Dear future readers,      At the beginning of the semester, I thought I had a pretty good grasp on how to be an effective writer. I learned a lot of new skills as a writer in my first year writing class. However, this year I honed the skills I learned from the first semester and became a much better writer.      Coming into college writing, I was pretty much stuck on the basic layout for an essay, and most of the ones I did write were pretty bland and non creative. However, I enjoyed writing more in this class than most of my other writing classes I've had before. The work seemed to be a little less challenging because most of the issues I wrote about were real world problems that I had genuine interest in. I feel this reflected in the quality of my work as well.      Before I came into college writing class, It was nearly impossible to write more than a two whole pages. Now, two pages seems like It's never enough. My informative and surprising paper was easily six pages and
